Aug 27-28- SMG Wins First National Event!

The last weekend in August proved to be a very successful one for SMG Racing. The team made the trip down to Atco Raceway, in Atco, New Jersey for the Nopi New Jersey Nationals, bringing not only its winning race car, but also its eye catching new tuner car to show off to all the fans and spectators. Early morning transmission problems plagued SMG, but after almost an hour of wrenching on the race car, they were able to overcome the odds and compete. Once SMG hit the race track, there was no stopping them as they overcame the tough field of fourteen competitors to score their first ever national event victory! YEAAA BABY!

Oct 15th and 16th – SMG Wraps up the season in Ohio

October in northern Ohio can be quite chilly, but not quite cold enough to hold back SMG Racing. October 15th and 16th marked SMG’s final event of the season, the NDRA Nopi XBOX Drag Racing Series World Finals in Norwalk Ohio. After making several test runs on Saturday, Sundays race proved to be exciting for team SMG, making it through 5 rounds of competition to finish in the runner-up spot. “The car ran great all weekend” says crew chief Rudy Lioce III. “and it was a very close race in the finals.” The entire SMG Racing team would like to thank their sponsors for all their support for the 2005 racing season.

Oct 1st and 2nd- SMG WINS NHRA Sport Compact Fall Nationals

The entire SMG Racing team left Englishtown N.J. on cloud nine after winning their first NHRA National event. Fred Jr and the entire SMG Racing team battled through a tough field of thirty two competitors to take the win. “Winning an NHRA National event is a very special thing, but to do it in Englishtown at the track I grew up watching drag racing makes this win even better.” Look out John Force… SMG IS COMING!!!
